About this Event
Add to calendarCETL is pleased to host this session where guest facilitator Dr. Sherrill Hayes, AVP, will invite faculty to reflect on their own experiences teaching in pluralistic classrooms—spaces where students bring varied perspectives, life experiences, and ways of engaging with course material. Through structured small-group conversations, participants will share successes, challenges, and questions about navigating pluralism and fostering civil engagement in their teaching practice. Facilitators will revisit Interfaith America’s Respect–Relate–Cooperate framework, principles of constructive conflict engagement, and strategies from Difficult Conversations as touchpoints for faculty dialogue. This workshop emphasizes peer learning and shared problem-solving, helping faculty deepen their ability to support meaningful, civil dialogue across differences while maintaining academic rigor.
