Add to calendarHealth Promotion & Wellness, along with the Department of Exercise Science and Sport Management, invite declared Exercise Science students to embark on an educational journey to Italy during spring break, March 7-15, 2025. This unique 3-credit hour course aims to deepen knowledge of food origins, appreciate flavors, and foster a balanced relationship with food.
Students will engage in immersive experiences such as cooking classes, tasting sessions, and farm-to-table excursions, offering hands-on applications of mindful and intuitive eating. Interactions with local communities will illuminate traditional food customs, providing insights into different cultural culinary styles.
The itinerary includes visits to iconic landmarks and cultural sites in Rome and Florence. Days will be spent exploring historic marvels and sampling local dining specialties. Throughout, the trip emphasizes not only cultural immersion but also personal reflection on eating habits, encouraging participants to integrate mindful eating into their daily lives.
