How Learning Works Book Chat: Mastery, Practice and Feedback

A grounding in the learning sciences is crucial for any student success efort. In the second edition of the popular "How Learning Works" (100,000 copies sold, translated into 6 languages) CETL Executive Director Michele DiPietro and his co-authors review the research on learning and syntesize it in 8 interrelated principles. In this series, we will read and discuss the book through the year, focusing on one principle at a time. This session focuses on the fifth and sixth principle, covering the research on skill aquisitionk and the role of practice and feedback in the development of mastery. Each session can be attended individually. The first 18 new registrants will receive a free copy of the book.
