The Department of English and the School of Communication are co-sponsoring a lecture by Henry Jenkins, one of the foremost media scholars of our time, entitled "Why Fandom Matters."
Henry Jenkins is the Provost Professor of Communication, Journalism, Cinematic Arts and Education at the University of Southern California. He is the author and/or editor of twenty books on various aspects of media and popular culture, including Textual Poachers: Television Fans and Participatory Culture, From Barbie to Mortal Kombat: Gender and Camputer games, and Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media Collide.
