Every instructor has questions about some aspect of their teaching. Scholarly teachers turn those questions into inquiry designed to get answers. Whether you want to find answers by searching the published work of others or you want to conduct a study of your own, this session will help you develop your scholarly teaching (ST) and scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) skills. In this session we will explore an open-access webtool, Hopscotch 4-SoTL, which will guide you in reflecting on your personal goals, questions, and curiosities in the classroom. Attendees can extend their learning by using the tool to generate a thorough, well-informed written and visual representation of a SoTL research design that can be used in planning a research study. Novice and experienced SoTLers are welcome!
