Using Metacognition to Help Your Students Learn

Facilitator: Rebecca Weaver

How do you know that you have learned something really well? How do you help your students understand how well they have learned something (or how far they need to go)? How can you use the prinicples of metacognition (our understanding of our own learning and our ability to increase and deepen our learning) to help your students learn in your class? This workshop will cover a variety of strategies such as "orienting tasks," "deep processing," the "study cycle" and "intense learning sessions" which you can train your students to use for success.  A short "pre-work" prepatory assignment will be sent out a week before the workshop.
