Mary Prescott is a Steinway artist of Thai-American descent. Blending music, movement, spoken word and film, Tida is a deeply personal interdisciplinary performance exploring intergenerational cultural identity through artist Mary Prescott’s maternal lineage. Through an intimate and visually evocative theatrical language, Prescott examines her mother’s undocumented Thai ancestry, her experiences as a Southeast Asian immigrant raising biracial children in the American Midwest, and the lasting impact of these histories across three generations of women. Prescott will share aspects of her heritage in her unique style.
